Mr. Robert Hassell passed away on Wednesday, May 9th. Our Foundation has lost a friend and a leader. He was a force in our community. Many credit the vision and realization of the Hospital's acute care tower, built in 1968, to his savvy, tenacity, sheer will and passion for local access to quality health care. His philanthropic leadership is unequalled. Mr. and Mrs. Hassell made a $3 million gift to our Foundation at the inception of our Partners in Caring Campaign. Mr. Hassell served as the honorary chair of our campaign. We are grateful to Robert Hassell and his wife Florence for the footprint they have left on our community. Our thoughts are with their family.
