The Foundation’s annual Because People Matter Grants were developed to support innovative projects at Peace Arch hospital as well as community programs which focus on health education, research and service delivery. Over $1 million has been invested in more than 70 projects since the inception of the Because People Matter Grants program in 1999.

Who Qualifies
The Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation Board of Directors approved this grant program to increase and improve the provision of health care, to those who live in the area of White Rock and South Surrey, whether through direct medical services and facilities, public health education or medical research, which enhances those services and facilities.
These grants are applicable for education purposes and new program initiatives for departments within Peace Arch Hospital and those agencies located apart from Peace Arch Hospital for capital and new program initiatives. The focus for education is for staff, patient and community, research and new programs focused on innovation and forging a new direction in health care.
